FUN FACTS

  1. Teemburra Dam is an impoundment located in the
    beautiful Pioneer Valley west of Mackay, Queensland,
    Australia.
  2. In impoundments like Teemburra Dam, Barramundi are
    released as male fingerlings, staying male until they
    reach saltwater, becoming female to breed.
  3. In fresh water, Barramundi have a metallic grey
    appearance, turning shiny chrome in salt water.
  4. Dame Nellie Melba is a famous opera singer who lived in
    the Pioneer Valley. Her house has now been turned into
    a museum known as Melba House.
